CRC Objectives - 2004

CRC’s Goals for 2004 are to capitalize on 2003’s exposure for CRC Members and the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, Local No. 11 Workers. CRC wants to promote the Contractor Member firms partnership with quality United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, Local No. 11 Workers through exposure, and the following objectives.

Build an understanding of the difference between a union and non-union roofing and waterproofing firm through promotion of the following concepts:

  • Educated workers means efficient, high quality, competitive value provided.
  • CRC Members understand the quality process, resulting in lower TRUE installed cost roofing and waterproofing systems. As these contractors really know their costs, and are efficient at the quality process, roofing projects are competitive.
  • Reduce Perception that union worker installed Roofing and Waterproofing is expensive vs. other types of firms through life cycle costing principles.
  • Generate exposure for CRC Members and Local 11 Worker Goals to those who influence the purchasing of roofing and waterproofing projects to create leads that result in contracts for CRC Members and hours worked for Local 11 Mechanics.
  • Generate CRC exposure in the industry to create leads, influence perception of CRC Members with key influences, promote the value provided through long term life cycle perceptions instead of initial cost of systems, and understanding the benefits of CRC Member investment in human and physical capital.

Website
Hire website designer for CRC Web Committee to work with, resulting in a resourceful promotional website operational by August 1, 2004.

Direct Mail Campaign
Promote CRC Members through mailings to potential customers. Secondly, promote member accomplishments to members, to show the value of CRC Membership.

CRC Newsletters
The CRC newsletter should be published at least quarterly, either in print or electronically distributed via email. We’ll try to keep it short, concise, catchy, classy and professional. Newsletter topics typically include, profiles of CRC Contractor Member Firms, Honors & Accomplishments, Profiles of Local 11 Apprentice Training Program, Accomplishments, Honors, etc., CRC Member Speaking engagements, CRC Events, CRC Liaison news.

Scholarship Fund
Provide Scholarship opportunities for CRC Member Firms and Local 11 Workers family members. Each year, the Scholarship fund committee reviews hundreds of applications for student scholarships awarding assistance to those worthy students who deserve it most in the group’s opinion.

Community Involvement
Reinvest in the community that provides and environment for CRC Members and United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, Local No. 11 Workers to provide for their families through service.

Association Liaisons
CRC will begin to form relationships with other trade groups that are influences in roofing and waterproofing purchases for CRC Members and United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, Local No. 11 Workers. Our aim is to speak, write articles, and form relationships with the following groups so CRC Member Firms become the preferred roofing and waterproofing resource for the following groups’ members :

  • Suburban Chicago Chapter
  • International Facility Managers Association – IFMA
  • Chicagoland Board of Realtors - CBOR
  • Roof Consultants Institute (RCI) – Chicago Chapter
